BDN Perspective / Guesses - Coaches on Hot Seat
« on: February 05, 2019, 10:44:26 AM »
So which college basketball coaches does this board see as being at risk to be let go at the end of the year? I think it gives a perspective on the level of jobs that may be open.

Pat Chambers at Penn State is a hot seat candidate it would seem.
Surprisingly, Shaka Smart may be an at-risk coach.

My buddy is a Texas alum, used to be a manager for their team and said he thinks Shaka may not finish the season.  Not sure how serious he was.

I don't think this impacts us though as DL will be here for year 5 whether he deserves it or not.    If he wins 15 games than I don't hate that he's coming back.    If we win less than 15 he shouldn't be back but still will.

Iíd rather see Laydown stay for a year post the departure of PonShittohhh. I get why people want him gone and not lost on me, not impressed by him at all during his time @ Virginia or his 4 years here. But....She absolutely cannot have any say into the next hire. The longer he stays though, the easier it will be for someone to pluck Anderson away. He may have some heat on him w/ respect to the FBI inquiry right now but once that blows over and he is cleared, I think his commodity takes a turn upward. Without him Laydown ainít getting these kids. And back to more classes like we had this year. You cannot close what you cannot get to look at you.

Tim Miles will be gone from Nebraska

Hayes-Healy Superstar: Yep Coach K is squeaky clean... he's the Joe Paterno of coll.... oh yeah.

BigJayStud: JLP will have to make a decision after next season. She should extend (Purnell) by one year with a very low buyout.

Do you shutter thinking about who might replace him? Who is the basketball version of Bill Callahan? Dave Leitao?

Doesn't really matter to me, DPU is my b-ball school don't really have time to root for others.  Pay more attention to the Nebraska football, baseball, and women's volley ball squads.
