Demons Abyss / Re: What would it take for us to " lock up" Chicago

Not a fan of focusing all your recruiting attention to one location. The talent very much ebb and flows in locations, and Chicago is not producing that elite level talent like it once did. I believe Michael O'Brien recently did an article on the weaker talent in Illinois recently.

$$$. Seriously how does any program in any state or any city keep kids when the Dukes, the Kansas or the Kentucky's of the world come recruiting HARD for these players. Its almost impossible.

D-Wade wanted to come to DePaul but Kennedy didn't think he wasworth the scholarship to have him sit a year because he wasnt eligible through the Clearinghouse

A top coach recognized as a true leader, would make this happen.

First time poster, recent DePaul graduate, pursing a MA there. Anyway, you know how Alabama football stockpiles homegrown talent? Texas football had( or maybe still has, idk, I just remember that the 06 team was like almost all Texas kids) that state locked up? Miami football had the State of Miami back in the 80s.

Maybe wishful thinking/comparing apples to oranges, but what would it take for us to create a " fence" around the Chicago basketball talent?

Would be cool if it happened. Would've had The Brow, D-Rose, D-Wade, Okafor, Jabari all in our recent history.

For those who have been with Blue Demons Nation for a long while (Pre-Rivals days), this may bring back memories of how it once looked, circa 13 years ago.

Demons Abyss / Re: Three Teams - Most talented squad?

i like most people voted for OP's team.  Based on talent ignoring injuries (Stimage) or coaching (bad for all 3).  Stimage, TH, Henry, Garret, Simpson, etc had some talent but no discipline.  Aside from Koshwal and Walker (maybe Stovall) Wainwright's team seems light on talent.  Who would be the next best Freeland, Kelly?  Regardless who you vote for it is an ugly winner.

OK, won't let me vote.  Says it's locked or I voted twice.

Well, I cannot take any team where Garrett was the best player.
I thought Koswall got the shaft and should be playing pro today.

so, I matched up each position of the JW team and I beat the others hands down, IMO.

NotHotTakes - I am not 100% in agreement, because I think a very talented team will not always transfer to wins. There have been some teams that would seem to have immense talent and yet severely underachieve (as a FSU football fan, see last year).
